My love of vintage began as a child. I was drawn to the stories behind each piece — the craftsmanship, the history, and the journey it had taken before finding its way to me. I would imagine who made it, who wore it, and the life it had lived.
Through my teens and early twenties, that passion grew into collecting and learning everything I could about vintage and antiques.
In 2010, after losing my nana — someone I truly idolised — I knew I needed something to focus on. That’s when Gem’s Boutique was born. What started as a passion quickly grew into something more, gaining recognition through features in publications such as Vogue and the BBC.
In 2015, life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with ME/CFS. I had to step away from everything I had built.
Over time, I slowly began to rebuild a new way of life, learning to work within new limitations.
In 2018, I reopened Gem’s Boutique, creating meaningful pieces from customers’ sentimental garments. While I loved this deeply, I knew something was still missing.
That missing piece revealed itself during my own healing journey — a moment that reconnected me to everything I had always loved about vintage. The history, the feeling, the individuality, and the way clothing can make you feel like yourself again.
That moment led to the creation of The Vintage Hippy.
Today, The Vintage Hippy is more than just a place to buy clothing. It is a space for women to express themselves, feel confident, and reconnect with their individuality. Alongside curating vintage clothing and homeware, I design one-of-a-kind pieces using reclaimed fabrics, giving new life to textiles that would otherwise be lost.
Every piece is created or chosen with intention to be worn, loved, and lived in.
This brand is also a reflection of resilience. Running a business is never easy, and doing so with a chronic illness brings its own challenges. But it is possible and I hope The Vintage Hippy reflects that.
We believe in slowing down, choosing differently, and making a positive impact, one piece at a time.

CONDITIONAL INFORMATION
As most of our vintage pieces are pre-loved, some may show signs of wear. Each item is carefully checked and graded so you know exactly what to expect.
Excellent – minimal to no signs of wear
Very Good – slight signs of wear, still in great condition
Good – visible wear that does not affect the overall look or wearability
We always aim to be as transparent as possible, and any noticeable flaws will be mentioned in the product description.
SIZING INFORMATION
Vintage sizing can differ significantly from modern sizing, so we recommend checking the measurements provided on each product.
Where possible, we include a suggested modern size range to help guide you.
Our handmade pieces are designed as one size, with a relaxed and flattering fit intended to suit a range of body shapes (approximately UK sizes 6–20).
ALTERNATIONS
If you would like a more tailored fit, we offer an alterations service on both vintage and handmade pieces.
Our experienced seamstresses can adjust garments to better suit your shape. Please contact us before purchasing to discuss your requirements.

UK shipping is available, and we also offer worldwide delivery. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times will be shown at checkout.
RETURNS
We hope you love your purchase, but if something isn’t quite right, we offer returns within 14 days of receiving your order.
